A High School Classics & History Colloquium
2026 Theme “Continuity and Change in the Classical Tradition”
Abstracts due October 10, 2026 · Decisions by October 25, 2026
The Agora is a student-run virtual conference held on Zoom from 1–5 PM EST on November 14, 2026. The colloquium is dedicated to showcasing original research by high school scholars in classics, ancient history, late antiquity, medieval studies, and the reception of the classical tradition.
The Agora offers a wonderful opportunity to share your work with other high school students, discuss classics-related topics with like-minded peers, and potentially win an award. Everyone — whether a Presenter or a Discussion Participant — will contribute to rich conversations.
Whether you’re just starting your journey into the ancient world or have been studying Latin or Greek for years, we’d love to see you.
We will begin with a short Keynote Speech and then move to student presentations and associated discussions for the rest of the afternoon.
Each student who is chosen to present will be given five minutes to speak. After each presentation, the Presenter will moderate a period of discussion with other students. We hope that this interactive format will be a great way to develop your interest in Classics, connect with other students, and practice leading and participating in academic dialogue.
We invite submissions of 300-word abstracts on any topic related to:
